Interpellation No 1 "Opening a new nursery service" This interpellation is treated in the Municipal Council of 21 December 2010. The answer is contained in the minutes of the session that you will read soon be published on the website of the municipality . the Mayor of the City of Brentwood
The Chairman of the City Council of Brentwood
Subject: consult "Opening a new nursery service"
L "nursery" is increasingly an important service to families and particularly mothers and women and enables educational activity, educational and socialization for children since the early months of life and allows the creation of new jobs directly and indirectly. E ', in short, an essential and indispensable for the present social system and the quality of living and life.
seems imminent opening of the new service nursery housed in the former Brentwood Nursing Home, which will replace the service opened in 2002 at the former Nursery building Castione. The same mayor, on the occasion of the presentation of the Program 2010/2015 Legislature, said that the opening of the new structure is expected in January 2011.
We do not want to go into the solution, ie the choice to confine the new service structure which we believe does not guarantee the best opportunities (teaching, livability, logistics, etc..) For children and would create considerable problems in relation to roads, parking, security, etc.. The choice was deliberate and done well, but we know you could do better, much better, and without much effort ideational.
We take inspiration from the fact that the financial years 2010/2012 does not provide adequate amounts for current expenditure from which you can understand that the service will open in 2011 or 2012. In fact, for the years 2011 and 2012 is provided for the appropriation of expenditure of the year 2010, namely that relating to the cost of service Castione. Therefore you can not understand whether the current administration has really intend to launch the new service, in what way, at what cost and, more importantly, for those children.
We also take inspiration from the fact that as a result of the contract works have followed three substantial variation of the initial project appraisals which may suggest that the initial draft has been prepared with its own criteria of objectivity, accuracy, completeness and effectiveness.
those circumstances shall be referred to know:
1. If it is true that the structure that houses the new service municipal nursery was purchased by the City of Brentwood from the same property which was donated by the City Council of Brentwood about twenty years ago;
2. What was the exact cost of purchasing the building;
3. What is the cost effective related to the contract work as project executive;
4. What are, individually, rationale and costs for the three successive surveys of variation;
5. What are the costs related to designers and project managers;
6. How many children will be able to accommodate a maximum of the structure;
7. By what date you plan to start the service nursery in the new structure of Brentwood;
8. How many requests are currently using the service which is outstanding and the number of children you actually think will benefit the new service;
9. How many children do you intend to accept the date of opening of the new service;
10. What are the expected total cost of administering the new service divided by operating costs of the property, the cost of operating the service, any other charges;
11. If and how you intend to solve the problem of parking and the safety of handling and access to the building.
Under a regulation requiring written answers.
Sincerely
Brentwood, October 28, 2010
